Nicki Minaj Addresses Beef W/ Lil’ Kim, Says She’s Being Disrespected By New Female Rappers

Nicki Minaj is giving energy to the rumor she doesn’t support other female rappers. As social media brings about new artists daily, Nicki has confessed in a time where there was no Instagram or Twitter, she gave the proper recognition to the female rappers who came before her. Currently, Nicki is on a press run in New York for her 4th studio album “Queen.” Since Monday, she has made stops at Tidal, Funkmaster Flex, DJ Clue, and most recently, Genius.

During her time at the Hip-Hop lyric headquarters, she was interviewed about her lyrics from her mixtape days up until this point. She was also asked about female rappers in the industry who came before her and after her. She said,

“So, in no way shape or form do I not think it’s a good thing to open doors, because doors were opened for me. And when I was on the Come up DVDs, if you play me interviews, I didn’t only name Foxy. In all my interviews, i named several females.”

She addresses her past beef with fellow rap counterpart, Lil’ Kim, and affirms she did what she needed to in order to achieve success,

“But they don’t tell you that story about me! They only have one narrative! Someone got at me! A veteran got at me, and I hit them with “Roman’s Revenge” and kept on going! What was I supposed to do? Not feed my fucking family? You never gonna make me not feed my fucking family. So, I did what I had to fucking do!”

She contends her argument by claiming she gave recognition to the women who came before her.

“Prior to that, I was bigging them up over and over and over. Do I have to pull up the fuckin’ interviews?! Do I have to pull up the AllHipHop.com questionnaire when they asked me my top 5 and 4 women were listed in my top 5! Remember, there was line that said Kim, Foxy, and Remy. Nobody remembers that!”

As she brings her tangent to a closing, she says something to get the crowd ignited and enticed,

“Go on YouTube and see how many times I’ve said bitches name! But y’all training new bitches to come in and disrespect me!”

Minaj could be alluding to her semi-squahsed beef with Cardi B. The two women have had a longstanding exchange of verses since Cardi’s inception into the Billboard charts for her record breaking single “Bodak Yellow.” It was suspected the rappers put their differences aside when both women seen each other at the 2018 Met Gala and agreed their joint single with rap trio, Migos was a “misunderstanding.” As Minaj did promotion for her lead singles “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li,” she revealed she was asked by Atlantic records to change her verse on “Motosport” because it allegedly didn’t send the right message.
