Shaq and Shaunie O’Neal’s son, Shareef, has undergone heart surgery. On Thursday, the Basketball Wives star shared a photo Shareef in the hospital. She captioned the photo:
This morning was by far my toughest moment being a Mom. If only I could take his place today. Could I at least go with him in that operating room and hold his hand. Separating from him as he was wheeled off to surgery was heartbreaking. THATS MY BABY! I don’t care how old, how big, how grown my kids get I still want to protect them. I had no control over any of this. But there is a God, I trust and believe He is in there with my baby right now and has complete control.

As previously reported, in September, the college basketball star revealed that doctors “found a medical issue dealing with my heart” when he went in for a routine checkup.
While he didn’t specify what the medical issue was, it’s severe enough that heart surgery was needed.
Reportedly, post surgery, Shareef will continue attending classes at UCLA while he rehabs. His goal is to return to the court in the 2019 season.
Let’s send love, light and prayers to Shareef for a safe and speedy recovery!
