Drake Is Worth $150 Million & Is The Youngest On Forbes’ Richest Rappers List + Jay Z, Diddy, Dr. Dre Top The List
Hip hop is all about the cars, clothes, alcohol, and, most importantly, the Benjamins. These hip hop giants have plenty of those according to Forbes’ Richest Rappers of 2019 list. The top spots of the list feature a few of our favorite mainstays – including the genre’s first billionaire.

1. Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter – $1 Billion
Speaking of hip hop’s first billionaire, in his song, “Family Feud,” he warned us of this outcome – rapping:
“We gon’ reach a billi’ first / I told my wife, ‘This spiritual sh*t really work!”
Maybe that’s the secret! Jay-Z’s cognac investments, along with Roc Nation and Roc Nation Sports earn him racks on racks on racks – but he doesn’t credit music sales for his wealth. In 2010, he told Forbes:
“To convince artists that you can’t be an artist and make money was the greatest trick in music that people ever pulled off. I think the people that were making the millions said that.”

2. Dr. Dre – $800 million
“The D-R-E” may be worth a fortune, but it seems he’s doing more spending than earning this year! He recently purchased Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s $40 million Los Angeles estate, and donated $70 million to his Beats co-founder, Jimmy Iovine, to start their own school at USC. But our favorite airport accessory has earned him over well over half of his bank account at $500 million.

3. Sean “Diddy” Combs – $740 million
Diddy has always had his hands in several pots, crediting himself as the ultimate hustler. The Harlem native said his entrepreneurial journey started as a child. In 2017, he said:
“I started my business career at age 12, delivering newspapers. Since then, I’ve always understood that if I give the customers my best and service them differently, whether music, clothing or vodka, I’ll get a return on my hard work.”
His cable network Revolt, music, and small stake in his clothing line Sean John earns him millions, but his real money-maker is Ciroc. According to Forbes, Diddy will most likely become the second hip hop billionaire.

4. Kanye West – $240 million
Despite climbing out of $53 million in debt, Ye still sits atop of hip hop’s richest list. This is thanks in large part to Adidas. Yeezy is one of the most popular divisions of the sportswear giant. But, will Beyonce dethrone her husband’s former collaborator when she relaunches Ivy Park?

5. Drake – $150 million
Drizzy is the youngest millionaire on the list thanks to his Virginia Black whiskey and real estate investments, record-breaking tours, and his Las Vegas residency. His bank account has grown over 50% this year alone!
Will you be adapting any of this year’s richest rappers’ business practices? Let us know in the comments.
