YG Denies Any Involvement In Shootout Involving Car Registered In His Name
Platinum-selling rapper YG (real name Keenon Jackson), has taken to social media to clear his name of any involvement regarding a recent shootout that occurred in Compton. The 29-year-old artist tweeted,
“I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day. I was there until after midnight on the 4th of July and didn’t learn of these events until after they happened!”
According to reports, authorities are looking into a shooting that happened on July 4th, involving a deputy in Compton that resulted in a high-speed chase that ended in Inglewood. The ‘Big Bank’ artist is reportedly the registered owner of the black Cadillac Escalade that was involved.
A man, who is believed to be an innocent bystander, was allegedly killed at the scene, while a deputy officer was shot at but only suffered minor injuries.
Following the deadly shootout, a high-speed chase ensued that finally came to an end in Inglewood. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says that even more shots were fired during the pursuit. Multiple reports say that the patrol car’s windshield was sprayed with bullets.
Police detained one suspect while on the current search for another one. No other details have been released.
