Nipsey Hussle – LAPD Insists He Wasn’t Specifically Targeted in Gang Investigation
Slain rapper Nipsey Hussle has been a constant in the headlines since his sudden passing in March of this year. Reports recently surfaced that prior to his killing outside of his Marathon Clothing store, he was under investigation by LAPD regarding gang activity.
Despite never shying away from discussing his involvement in gang life as a Rolling 60s Crip, Nipsey was a serial entrepreneur who often employed ex-felons and gang members to urge them to change their lives. He was also a major investor in many children’s outreach and STEM initiatives.
According to reports, LAPD is now backtracking the claims of the investigation regarding the Marathon Clothing store. Two sources connected to LAPD now state that Nipsey (real name, Ermias Asghedom) was not the target of the investigation. Neither source explained why he was named in the first place. Since he was shot by now-arrested suspect, Eric Holder, on March 31st of this year, Nipsey’s family closed the store. Marathon Clothing has been a sole online operation since then.
