Big Sean & Kash Doll Celebrate Success In Race Car Themed “Ready Set” Music Video
Rappers Kash Doll and Big Sean put a new spin and swag on the Motor City in the music video for their new song, “Ready Set.” The Detroit natives are back with an inspirational follow-up to their 2017 freaky tale, “So Good.”
“Ready Set” is, perhaps, a triumphant celebration of Sean’s return to the music industry after taking a hiatus to treat anxiety and depression. In the race car-themed video, Kash and Sean rap:
“Failure’s not an option, I ain’t never goin’ back / Fact, I took a detour, had to keep learnin’ / He a D-boy, you a cheap version / Do arenas now like we preach, sermon / I’m a D girl, so I’m determined…”

“…Ready set, better yet / Got this b*tch rocking like we never left…Flooded out the venue / I look better than what I’ve been through / It’s a celebration / ‘Cause we made it out the basement / Stayed hungry, stayed patient / Then we made it out the basement,”

The video is directed by Jesse Ray Diamond, under the creative direction of fellow artist Teyana Taylor. Teyana also recently lent her directorial services to Monica‘s “Commitment” video. “Ready Set” features cameos from Kash Doll’s girlfriends – rapper Dreezy and singer Sevyn Streeter.
