Lizzo Dedicates First No. 1 Song To “Anybody Who Felt Like They Weren’t Good Enough!”
The talented, Lizzo took to social media following her single “True Hurts,” topping the charts at No. 1 to celebrate! The 31-year-old breakout artist is celebrating her hard-earned No. 1 by acknowledging the win for those who felt ignored and bullied for being unapologetically themselves. She tweets,
“WE’RE NUMBER 1. THIS IS A W FOR ALL OF US. ANYBODY WHO EVER FELT LIKE THEY VOICE WASN’T HEARD. ANYBODY WHO FELT LIKE THEY WEREN’T GOOD ENOUGH. YOU ARE. WE ARE. CHAMPIONS. I LOVE YALL 3 MUCH. LIZZBIANS UNITE.”

Lizzo’s No. 1 single knocked Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello‘s duet “Señorita” out of the top spot after just one week. Following, Lil Nas X remains in the top five with his record breaking, ‘Old Town Road’ smash, while Chris Brown and Drake’s ‘No Guidance,’ hold a firm No. 7 spot.

Rapper and former chart topper, Cardi B took a moment to congratulate Lizzo on her accomplishment which made her emotional. Cardi tweeted,
“The fact that Lizzo a couple months ago felt underestimated and now she have a #1!!!! BITCH! take that! Take that! Makes me emotional. It’s the best feeling in the world.”

As previously reported, Lizzo addressed her critics who challenged whether she’s a real rapper. She responded,
“Sometimes I get pissed that there are people who call future & sway lee rappers and still question whether or not I belong in the rap conversation.. but then I remember I have the #4 song in the country, laugh, go back to my dream job and log off”

She then added,
“I LOVE future & swae bruhhhhhh… the point went straight over y’alls heads… I’m just saying we all share a similar rap sing style…..I forgot that the internet is not the place for my emotions anymore… I love everybody good night.”
Congratulations to Lizzo!
