Roc Nation And NFL Donate To Chicago Organization That Cut Teens’ Locs, Jay-Z Faces More Criticism
Another day, another reason some fans are upset with Jay-Z.
This time around, he’s being called out for Roc Nation and the NFL’s $400,000 donation to Better Boys Foundation and Crushers Club. Both organizations are based in Chicago and aim to empower at-risk youth in the Windy City. But one of those organizations, Crushers Club, set to get $200,000 is why some are upset.
Back in 2016, Crushers Club founder Sally Hazelgrove, was pictured cutting two teenage boys’ locs.
The photo was tweeted from the Crushers Club’s page with the caption,
“It’s symbolic of change and their desire for a better life.”

While one of the teens, Kobe, has come forward and said he wanted Hazelgrove to cut his hair, fans are still livid with Jay as the move comes amid his controversial social justice partnership with the NFL. Many pointed out that Jay currently wears locs himself.

Roc Nation has yet to respond to the backlash.
Do you think Jay-Z’s donation is hypocritical? Tell us in the comments.
