Odell Beckham Jr. Calls Out NFL After Getting Fined For Fighting – “I Wouldn’t Have Changed Anything I Did”
NFL Star, Odell Beckham, Jr. was fined an undisclosed amount by the NFL for his heated brawl during Sunday’s (Sept. 29th), Week 2, 40-25 victory over the Baltimore Ravens with cornerback Marlon Humphrey. In their on field altercation, Humphrey appeared to have choked Beckham after throwing him to the ground. Odell stated about the incident:
“I’ve come a long way. I probably would’ve been suspended for the next game if I would’ve done what I wanted to do or more, knowing how I get treated. It was just something I had to [do] for my teammates and not hurt them even more than the 15-yard penalty.”

The Browns’ superstar receiver stated,
“This is football. This isn’t MMA. This isn’t Street Fighter.”
Beckham, who earlier this season was fined by the league for wearing a $190,000 watch during Cleveland’s opener, slammed the league for his second fine in two games:
“I think it’s crazy. The NFL finds ways to just take it. They’re going to take it from you. I understand a penalty, getting fined for that. But pants above the knees, a shirt hanging out and we’re talking about a T-shirt that cost $5 to make, and you’re getting $5,000 taken from you. Pads above your knees, and I’m like, you really think that this little knee pad covering my kneecap is going to affect, if somebody hits me, weighs 250 pounds, running 18 mph. I don’t do physics, but if I get hit, this is not going to protect me.“
After the game, Ravens’ Humphrey took a moment to reflect on their action as both teams returned to their locker rooms. In a video by a fan, Humphrey is seen rushing to Beckham.

The Ravens’ cornerback reportedly apologized to Beckham for his alleged choke hold on the Browns’ star receiver. He tells reporters in a post game interview,
“I ran into him after the game and apologized, it’s not really the brand of football I want to represent.”

According to reports, Beckham plans to appeal his fine,
“It’s money out of my future family and kids’ pocket. It’s enough. I don’t care if it’s $5. Still taking money from me. I just wish they could not worry about some of that stuff. Worry about the game. Worry about the other things that are going on.”
Beckham caught just two passes for 20 yards on Sunday and has just one 100-yard receiving game entering Monday night’s road matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
