Ryan Coogler & Wife Collaborating On Film Version of Comic Book, “Bitter Root”
Director Ryan Coogler has apparently found his niche in making movie magic. After the massive success of his Marvel film – Oscar-nominated “Black Panther” – he is returning to the comic book world. The 33-year-old is bringing the “Bitter Root” story to life on film.

Ryan Coogler’s key collaborator for the film is his wife of three years – Zinzi Evans. She is, reportedly, becoming increasingly active in producing projects with him. In fact, he often credits her for helping him launch his career as a director. Ryan Coogler opened up about his relationship with his wife stating:
“I was broke, playing football on the little scholarship money and my wife scrapped together some cheese and bought me Final Draft, which is the software that you write your movies on. She got me that.”
That’s not the only project the Cooglers are collaborating on! Ryan and Zinzi should welcome their baby girl any day now, announcing their pregnancy this past February.

“Bitter Root” is set during the Harlem Renaissance in the roaring ’20’s, surrounding the adventures of a monster-fighting family.
