Lil Kim Says John Singleton Wanted To Create Her Biopic Before He Passed
John Singleton was in talks of creating a Lil Kim biopic before he passed!
During an appearance on The Real Thursday (Nov. 7) Lil Kim revealed that he approached her about it before his shocking death.
The rapper said,
“I’ve gotten so many offers. I’m talking, major offers… even BET, Lifetime, Lionsgate. But the thing is, I had to be ready, and I think now I’m ready to tell the story.”
She said Singleton was the one who wanted to tell it.
“Him and I went [to a party]. He was like, ‘I want you to be my celebrity date.’ But I knew what that meant. He wants to talk, right? So he said to me, ‘Kim, why aren’t we doing this movie? You’re a walking best-seller.’ And I was like, ‘Well, I’m waiting for you.'”
She added that she wouldn’t have it any other way, but unfortunately, he passed before they were able to make things happen.
“I said to him, I always said if I did a movie about my life, I’m not doing it with anybody but you. And then he passed away.”

It was previously reported that Singleton passed away in April after suffering a massive stroke. The iconic film and TV series director was the brains behind classics like Boyz n the Hood, Poetic Justice and Baby Boy just to name a few.
As for Lil Kim, the closest thing she’s received to a biopic was her portrayal on the 2009 Notorious, a story of rapper Notorious B.I.G.’s life.
