John Legend & Steph Curry Team Up For ‘Signing Day’ Sports Drama
Steph Curry has a new teammate. But this one doesn’t play for the Golden State Warriors.
Instead, the NBA star has partnered with award-winning singer John Legend on a new sports drama film called Signing Day.
Steph Curry’s Unanimous Media production company will take on the series along with Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co and Sony Pictures.
The movie is about an ambitious female sports agent who will do nearly whatever it takes (even it’s against the law) to sign on a young basketball star who’s certainly a hot commodity.
This will be Steph Curry’s first project since he landed a deal with the studio last year. But it’s only the beginning as the company also has plans to crate faith-based and family-friendly digital content and films.
As for Legend’s company, it just wrapped Netflix’s very first live-action musical, “Jingle Jangle”, which is slated for a 2020 release.
Get Lifted was also the brains behind the streaming service’s “Rhythm and Flow” series with T.I., Chance the Rapper and Cardi B.

John Legend was also the executive producer for “Underground” on WGN. Unfortunately, that series was canceled after two seasons.
