Nicki Minaj Teases New Music, Accused Of Disrespecting Civil Rights Activist Rosa Parks [LISTEN]

She’s back! Rapper Nicki Minaj recently returned to social media just last week after a nearly three month hiatus. The rap Queen took to Instagram teasing a fresh new track on Monday (Feb. 4th). Nicki was seen vibing to an unreleased track which she’s titled “Yikes,” produced by Pooh Beatz.

Many were excited to finally hear the short new track from the 37-year-old rapper. However, a specific bar from Nicki’s latest track has caused a bit of controversy. As Nicki rapped along to the track in the clip, she makes a remark about late civil rights activist Rosa Parks that some are calling disrespectful. She raps,

“All you bitches Rosa Parks. Uh-oh. Get your ass up”

While Nicki’s teaser gave her fans exactly what they needed, Tuesday (Feb. 4), ironically marks what would have been the notable civil right activist’s 107th birthday.

Following Nicki’s short teaser on Monday, many were quick to criticize the ‘Queen‘ rapper for her Rosa Park remark making the unreleased track a trending topic.

In addition, prior to Nicki’s recent hiatus from the internet back in November, she shared a quote from another black activist Harriet Tubman about freeing slaves.

This wasn’t the first time Nicki has referenced to the activist. In 2018, while promoting her latest episode of Queen Radio on Instagram, Nicki revealed that she would be giving out “a plethora of awards.”
