Howard University Students Arrested for Protesting Troy Davis

Wednesday afternoon, Howard University students were arrested in front of the White House for protesting protest Troy Davis’ execution.

Our correpsondent (who is also a Howard University student) shared that police have arrested ten 13 students and 1 advisor thus far. The professor’s name that was arrested is Professor Medina. Updated: An hour after the protest began, I headed down to the White House to see what was happening first-hand. Students continued to protest and will continue to do so, until 7 p.m. EST. According to students and those spectating, the students and professor were arrested for not going to the other side of the side-walk, after being instructed by the police. Stay tuned!






Meanwhile, according to the Associated Press, a Georgia judge has refused to halt the execution of death row inmate Troy Davis after a last-minute appeal by his attorneys. He is scheduled to die at 7 p.m. EDT for the killing of off-duty Savannah officer Mark MacPhail.
