Ashanti’s Sister Shares Terrifying Domestic Violence Footage On Her Birthday [VIDEO]

Ashanti’s younger sister Kenashia “Shia” Douglas (also known as Shi Shi) celebrated her 31st birthday on Friday (April 3rd) by sharing a very touching video reflecting on her life and the things she has overcome. It was a narrated video that displayed various images and videos from her childhood, adolescent years, and adulthood.

Halfway through the video, the tone changed and things got very serious when the 31-year-old creative director and fashion designer shared images of a black eye, bloody face, and broken teeth. She also shared images of a baby bump and sonogram. Seeing that Shia doesn’t have any children, this may have been her way of revealing that she had a miscarriage.

In the video, during those tough images, Douglas narrates,

“Our experiences begin to shape our realities. Here, we learn about pain, isolation, sacrifice and heartache. These experiences though, no matter how bad, how painful, how ugly, how dark, how beautiful, are all threads that together wove our story and shape our purpose. They reignite our passion and remind us of who we are divinely meant to be.”

Back in 2016, Kenashia “Shia” Douglas was engaged to hip-hop entrepreneur, Rodney “Bucks” Charlemagne, better known as Slowbucks. It’s rumored that the two broke up in 2019. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, it allegedly rumored that ‘Bucks’ allegedly abused Shia.

Ashanti also shared her sister’s video on her Instagram for her fans to see. Ashanti captioned the post,

“My sister is a F**KIN BEAST! One of the most resilient women I’ve been blessed enough to know. I’m honored to be your older sister…the blood in these veins will NEVER BETRAY. I love you. I’m with you. Always. Happy 31st Birthday.”

This was a vulnerable and touching video that took great courage and strength to reveal. There has been an outpouring of love on both Shia and Ashanti’s Instagram posts.
