Drake Responds After Victoria Monét Calls Him A ‘Professional Trick’
Drake is weighing in after Victoria Monét jokingly labeled him a “professional trick” while discussing his reputation for giving women extravagant gifts.
During the conversation, Victoria and the hosts debated what actually qualifies as “tricking” versus simply being generous. When Drake’s name entered the discussion, Victoria ultimately described the rapper as a “professional trick” and even jokingly referred to him as a “trick-or-treat master.” She also explained that receiving an expensive gift, such as a Cartier bracelet delivered to someone’s door, wouldn’t necessarily constitute “tricking” in her eyes.
Drake later entered the conversation himself, leaving a lengthy comment explaining his approach to giving. He wrote,
“There’s a return on investment in your soul for doing things for people who you feel deserve it.”
The rapper continued, explaining that whether the recipient ultimately proves deserving or the gesture simply acknowledges “consistent love and loyalty,” the important distinction is that “there isn’t an expectation on the other side.” Drake added that he recognizes he’s been blessed with “an obscene amount of money” and said that after experiencing the joy material things can provide for himself, he finds fulfillment in creating that same feeling for others through unexpected gestures.
He concluded by drawing a clear distinction between his gift-giving and spending money with romantic expectations, writing, “Transactional exchanges with the expectation of intimacy are a different frequency.”
What do y’all think — is Drake simply generous, or does Victoria Monét have a point?
