Erykah Badu Doesn’t Want To Be Labeled A R&B, Hip Hop Or Urban Artist
Erykah Badu says she doesn’t want to be labeled a R&B singer or an Urban Artist. The 49-year-old singer wrote on Instagram:
“I’m not a r n b / hip hop artist or an urban artist . I’m an Artist . I’m a musician. If you plan to write about me or my music take us out of those categories. If not .. We good. Peace.”
Erykah is known for hit singles like “On & On, ‘Next Lifetime” and “Bag Lady.”
She’s been known as a neo-soul singer. Her first album “Live” was released in 1997. That album spawned the hit “Tyrone.”
She’s also hosting another quarantine concert from her bedroom on Sunday, April 5th starting at 7p.m. (CST).
