Kim Kardashian West Secures Criminal Justice Reform Podcast

Kim Kardashian West has snagged a podcast on Spotify. The widely-recognized advocate of criminal justice reform and law student has reportedly signed an exclusive deal with the streaming service where she will co-produce and co-host the show with Emmy-nominated television producer Lori Rothschild Ansaldi. The show will reportedly highlight the work Kim Kardashian West has done with The Innocence Project, a non-profit organization that uses DNA testing and technology to overturn wrongful convictions. The podcast will particularly follow her as she covers the case of death row inmate Kevin Keith.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and wife to rapper and fashion designer Kanye West has recently called for clemency in the case of Kevin Keith. The Ohio inmate was convicted of shooting three people in 1994 and in 2010, his death sentence was commuted to life without parole by the then-governor of Ohio Ted Strickland after he had already served 10 years on death row. Kim first mentioned learning about Kevin Keith‘s case on Twitter back in July 2019 where she said:

The more I learn about it, the more I believe the world needs to hear what happened to him! He was on death row & came w/in days of execution before the governor of Ohio commuted his sentence to life w/o parole.

In April 2020, she spoke on Twitter about Kevin Keith again, but this time it was to allude to her desire to get him released because the facility where he’s serving time, Marion Correctional Institution, has become a “hotspot” for the widespread coronavirus:

Kim has been a very vocal and visible presence in the field of prison sentence reform as she continues to study to become an attorney like her deceased father, Robert Kardashian, Sr., who was one of the attorneys during the infamous 1995 murder trial of football Hall of Famer O.J. Simpson. She plans to take the bar exam in 2022 and in the interim, her consistent work with The Innocence Project has helped to successfully free a number of wrongly convicted individuals, including Alice Marie Johnson, who served 21 years in prison for a first-offense, non-violent drug crime.

According to the Justice For Kevin Keith website, the podcast is currently in production and is set to premiere in September of this year.
