Update #3 (June 24th): “A Bay Bay” rapper Hurricane Chris has broken his silence as he faces second-degree murder charges. Hurricane Chris, who was let on bail earlier this week, took to social media to make his first statement.
He said in a video,
“I’m sure you got the news by. now. I was involved in a very unfortunate incident on Friday morning… a very unfortunate incident. I want to thank everybody who’s been praying for the family of the deceased, and everybody who’s been praying for my family.”
He then vowed,
“After a good thorough investigation, my name will be cleared. let God work, watch God work. God bless. Thank you.

Update #2 (June 23rd): Rapper Hurricane Chris has been released on bond as he faces second-degree murder charges. He was released on Sunday (June 21st), according to reports. His lawyers, Alex Washington and Shante Y.R. Wells said on his behalf,
“The prayers of Mr. Dooley are with the family of the deceased as well as his own family at this time. He is confident that at the end of a thorough and just investigation of this incident, his name will be cleared.”
Original Story: Louisiana rapper Hurricane Chris, 31, (real name Christopher Dooley) has reportedly been arrested for second-degree murder. Earlier today (June 19), reports states that a man was shot and killed in Shreveport,LA, allegedly by Hurricane Chris, at a Texaco gas station. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the individual suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died later.
According to reports, Hurricane Chris, says that he shot the man in self-defense after a struggle over his vehicle. Officers are said to have reviewed footage from the gas station, and it allegedly contradicts Hurricane Chris’ claims of self-defense. They also discovered that the vehicle, in which, Chris stated the incident was over, did not belong to him. It was reported stolen out of Texas.

He is now being charged with one count of second-degree murder, and one count of illegal possession of stolen things.
Hurricane Chris is a rapper, who rose in popularity in 2007 with his debuted hit “A Bay Bay”, from his first album, 51/50 Ratchet.
Two years later (2009), he released his second hit “Halle Berry (She’s Fine)”, from his second album, Unleashed.
A year later (2010), Chris was dropped from both Polo Grounds and J Records. Since then, the 31-year-old rapper has released several mixtapes with songs featuring Lil Boosie and Ty Dolla $ign.
Recently (May 28), Chris took to the streets of Louisiana to protest in honor of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, which was ignited by the killing of George Floyd while in police custody. In a post on his Instagram page, Chris wrote:
For years my people have been stolen from and cheated we must stand for what’s right #justice#godhelpus#endoppression do right by others and right shall be done by yu without balance and respect there will be no understanding but pure khaos #godhelpusall?
