Claudia Jordan is opening up about how over twenty years ago, she testified at Mike Tyson’s 1992 rape trial.
Tyson was arrested in July 1991 for the rape of 18-year-old Desiree Washington, Miss Black Rhode Island, in an Indianapolis hotel room.
Tyson’s rape trial took place in the Marion County superior court from January 26 to February 10, 1992. Tyson was convicted on the rape charge on February 10, 1992.
Claudia was friends with Desiree Washington and recalls at the time, her friend telling her that the professional boxer had raped her. The TV host said:
“I talked her into staying, the next day she went out and she got raped.”
Claudia says that Desiree told her family and she even went with her to the hospital.
“I took her, I held her hand while she was having her vaginal examination. They said there was evidence”.
Claudia recalled testifying at the trial.
“I think he thought I was called by the defense like all the other paid off witnesses that came to the trial in new clothes and fresh from a trip from Jamaica. But when I got on the stand, I’m a hostile witness for their side.”
