LeBron James Has ‘Zero Comment’ For The L.A. Sheriff Who Challenged Him To Match Reward Money For Ambushed Deputies
Just a week after being challenged by Los Angeles Sheriff Alex Villanueva to match a $175,000 reward in search for the shooter who ambushed two L.A. Deputies, Lakers point guard LeBron James offers an answer.
“I have zero comment on the Sheriff.”
That was the response LeBron James gave after expressing his stance on violence when asked about his thoughts on the Sheriff’s challenge after game 3 in which the Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets 106-114.
LeBron James did, however, expound on the topic:
“I’ve never in my 35 years ever condoned violence. Never have. But I also know what’s right is right, and what’s wrong is wrong. I grew up in the inner city in a Black community in what we call the hood or the ghetto.”
He continued:
“I’ve seen a lot of counts firsthand of a lot of Black people being racially profiled because of our color. And I’ve seen it throughout my whole life.”
As reported previously, Los Angeles Sheriff Alex Villanueva asked James to match the reward money, saying:
“I want to make a challenge…this challenge is to LeBron James. I want you to match that and double that reward because I know you care about law enforcement.”
On @KABCRadio, @LACoSheriff challenges LeBron James to match current reward amount of $175,000, in search for shooter of two @LASDHQ deputies.

Vanessa Bryant, widow of legendary Lakers player, Kobe Bryant, slammed the Sheriff for his challenge. She took to her Instagram to repost other social media users’ posts condemning the Sheriff for asking James to “step up to the plate”.
