Megan Thee Stallion Says She Was In A ‘Dark Place’ After Being Shot: Sometimes You Need A Day Where You Just Want To Holler
Megan Thee Stallion is opening up about her recent success, her friendship with Beyonce, and recovering in more ways than one after being shot earlier this year.
It’s no secret many of Megan Thee Stallion’s are NSFW, but she doesn’t seem to be bothered by the criticism it’s gotten her. She told The L.A. Times:
“This is my body; why can’t I talk about it? Men have been doing it for years. Me saying I have a WAP should not be making the boys cry this hard.”
Not everyone is against her music as she garnered four Grammy nominations this year. She said of the accomplishment:
“If you don’t have no haters, you’re not poppin’. So that just really let us know we’re doing something right.”

Megan Thee Stallion made headlines after being shot in the foot this past July, said she’s not allowed to speak on the case against rapper Tory Lanez, who has been charged for the crime. Still, she said she was in a “dark place” and alluded to confiding in Jay-Z and Beyonce, adding that her friendship with the “Formation” singer feels like a “wild dream.” She continued:
“Being from Houston, Beyoncé means everything to us. I’m pretty sure Beyoncé means everything to a lot of people. But when I got to do a song with her? Oh, my God.”
When asked if she considered going to therapy over the incident, she said she’s thought about it and added:
“Sometimes you need a day when you just want to holler.”

But instead, her solution has been:
“to throw myself into work.”
She also revealed that she and Beyonce are in talks of performing the “Savage” remix together at the Grammy Awards, before sharing her thoughts on Cardi B’s decision not to submit their hit song “WAP” for a nomination.
“I don’t know why she didn’t submit it. But Cardi is a very smart woman, so I never question her decisions. She knows exactly what she’s doing.”
