Halle Berry Says Dating Your Friend’s Ex Is A “Cardinal Sin”: If I Know You, I’m Not Dating Your Past
Actress Halle Berry has a rule that she stands by when it comes to friendships and relationships.
During an episode of her Instagram series called “Bad & Booshy” with stylist and longtime friend Lindsay Flores, Halle Berry was asked if she would ever date a friend’s ex-boyfriend or ex-husband, she replied,
“Never! Never!”
Lindsay Flores added,
“I would definitely not date any of your exes.”
Halle Berry responded,
“Well, you wouldn’t want to.”
She continued and said that dating a friend’s ex is considered a “cardinal sin.”
“That’s a cardinal sin. You don’t date your bestie’s exes. If I know you, I’m not dating your past nothing ’cause that’s just not cool.”
“My soulmate is not in the form of anybody I know’s exes.”

On Thursday (September 17) , Halle Berry confirmed her relationship with neo-soul singer Van Hunt. They both posted the same smiling photo of Halle Berry wearing an olive-colored cap and a black, short-sleeved shirt with the “Van Hunt” logo on it. Van Hunt captioned his post:
there ya go…

Halle Berry took her post a little further. She tagged the singer on the photo itself and her caption seemed to be a confirmation of sorts with the heart and foot emojis attached to it. The text of the caption simply said:
now ya know…
The foot emoji appeared to be a reference to a snapshot she took earlier this year with her and a man’s foot. At that time, it wasn’t clear who the other foot belonged to, but it’s now safe to say it was Van Hunt’s.
Last month Halle Berry publicly acknowledged Van Hunt as her man, when LisaRaye McCoy made some comments about her sex life.
Halle Berry filed for divorce from Olivier Martinez in 2015. She has also been married to MLB star David Justice and singer-songwriter Eric Benét.
