Tiger Woods Might Have Fallen Asleep At The Wheel Before Crash, Experts Say
Tiger Woods has spoken out for the first time since getting into a serious car accident recently.
As previously reported, the professional golf star was behind the wheel of a 2021 Genesis GV80 when he swerved on the median, veered off the road, and hit a tree before the car flipped over.
His team released a statement shortly after, letting fans know he was awake and alert.

Now, Tiger Woods has released a statement himself. He responded to his peers wearing his signature red shirt at the 2021 WGC-Workday Championship Sunday, Feb. 28th.
“It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the TV and saw all the red shirts. To every golfer and every fan, you are truly helping me get through this tough time.”
“To me, this is like a classic case of falling asleep behind the wheel, because the road curves and his vehicle goes straight.
He said,
“It’s a drift off the road, almost like he was either unconscious, suffering from a medical episode or fell asleep and didn’t wake up until he was off the road and that’s where the brake application came in.”
Accident reconstruction expert Felix Lee also pointed out that Tiger Woods’ car didn’t switch directions at the curve. He said,
“My feeling is that speed wasn’t that much of an issue. It was just some kind of inattention that caused the curb strike.”
“[suggests] he wasn’t paying attention at all.”
“At the hospital, he was asked about it by the investigators and he had no recollection of the crash itself.”
Sheriff’s Deputy Carlos Gonzalez was the first to arrive at the scene six minutes after the police were called. He said,
“I don’t think he was aware of how gravely he was injured at the time. It could be a mixture of adrenaline, it could’ve been shock.”
