‘SWV’s’ Coko Clemons Shares That A Woman Was Shot Outside Of Her Hotel Before Verzuz, Says That Is The Reason She Appeared Irritated

While the Verzuz battle between SWV and Xsape was a hit, some fans were questioning Coko Clemons’ attitude. During the first part of Saturday’s (May 8) Verzuz, some viewers felt Coko appeared irritated. Cocko took to social media on Sunday (May 9) to explain that a terrible incident took place prior to the event. She shared that a woman was shot outside of her hotel last night as she was preparing to take the stage and perform with her group, SWV. Clemons wrote,

“Last Night as I am preparing for versus a lady was shot outside my hotel window. To see and hear the four shots, see her laying on the ground and all the blood was unbelievable!!! Thennn…I get to the venue and had a really bad anxiety attack! Literally crying & screaming. “

She went on to explain that if it weren’t for her son and friends being there with her, she probably would not have been able to take part in the Verzuz battle.

“Yeah y’all saw me looking uncomfortable & irritated during the first half but if it wasn’t for my son @jayyemichael @ynottamiya and @mrljb I probably wouldn’t have been out there at all.”

Coko ended the post by thanking her loved ones for being there for her and for understanding her mental state.

“Thank you for calming me down & understanding my mental. I always say most won’t care to understand but when you get those that do cherish them!!”

Several celebrities and fans commented, expressing their sympathy and support to Coko.
