TLC’s T-Boz Wants To Battle Xscape Or SWV

TLC’s T-Boz Is Here for Battling Xscape Or SWV

TLC and SWV are two of the most impactful girl groups of the 90’s. SWV’s Lelee Lyons, and TLC’s T-Boz recently stood in solidarity together against VH1’s Hip Hop Honors ceremony, wondering why the two groups were not invited to participate in the show that highlighted the “music, vibes and faces of the glass ceiling-breaking contributors to the culture” in 2017. Lelee Lyons posted on social media saying,

“Soooooo, VH1 is doing a show on game changers of the ‘90s, but not invite most of the artists that changed the game? Where they do that at? I’m so sick of the d**k riding, popularity contest that flatters this new industry. #SWV #thatisall #payoladidntgetushere #musidid #numbersdontlie”

Fellow members of SWV agreed with  Lelee Lyons even TLC’s T-Boz hopped in the comments to agree saying,

“I feel you!”

It looks like fans want to see the girl groups come together again, but this time on Instagram live.  Fans have been eagerly trying to provide ideas for who should go head to head next.Under a recent post of T-Boz’s, one fan left a comment with hopes to see legendary groups SWV and TLC be the first girl group to land on the Verzuz stage saying,

“We NEEED TLC VS SWV OR XSCAPE!!!!! Vs BATTLE!!!”

T-Boz saw the comment and agreed that the battle would be a good idea replying,

“Tell em”

Jill Scott and Erykah Badu’s epic Verzuz battle, made them the first women to go live together, and the two ladies brought in over 700,000 viewers during their 3-hour long live stream on Saturday, May 9, 2020.

Male R&B groups 112 and Jagged Edge recently did a Verzuz battle were the first male group to go live together, and it looks like we might be getting a female battle soon.

Timbaland and Swizz Beatz

Swizz Beats and Timbaland created the idea during quarantine, to provide entertainment in a world where 16 million people lost their jobs.  The super producers say that they haven’t made any money from the battles, although millions of dollars have been on the table,

Tonight represented the authentic zone of why we didn’t sell 50% of the company for millions of dollars, the authentic zone of why we turned down millions and millions of dollars to the vultures, just wanting to put a name next to name, but no respect for what we do.  We haven’t made one cent off of VERZUZ yet. That don’t mean that we not business, but what we have is something that is, we have a museum. VERZUZ is a museum, it’s an educational, celebrational platform.  What Beanie Man and Bounty Killer did tonight, was iconic. They was just gonna leave Beanie Man, and Bounty Killer on the side of the road, and what did VERZUZ do Tim?”

Which two female R&B group would you like to see battle between SWV, TLC, and Xscape? Let us know in the comments!
