Public Enemy’s Chuck D Is Ready To End Feud With Flavor Flav
Legendary MC Chuck D is ready to make amends with legendary hype man Flavor Flav after ‘firing’ him from their group Public Enemy in March 2020. The ‘firing’ followed an alleged dispute over Public Enemy’s appearance at a political rally in support of Bernie Sanders.
Chuck D claimed their fallout had nothing to do with Public Enemy’s appearance at a rally but was a result of Flavor Flav sending a cease and desist letter and publicly suing the group for using his image and likeness for an opportunity Chuck D agreed to.
When asked if he fired his long-time partner on the People’s Party with Talib Kweli, Chuck D said:
“He can’t be fired, he’s a partner. You don’t fire partners, you just walk away from them.”
Chuck D claimed he never intended to actually fire his group member, but simply get his attention in retaliation of the lawsuit received.
“I’m saying the original intention was to get your attention.”
TMZ caught up with Chuck D while he was touring the construction of the Universal Hip Hop Museum in the Bronx. He was asked if he and Public Enemy plan on reuniting again, and he responded that the ball is in Flavor Flav’s court and it’s up to him.
“It’s whatever Flavor wants to do.”
Although it’s unclear whether or not the group members are currently on speaking terms, Chuck D made it crystal clear he’s ready to move on from the beef between them.
