Kodak Black Faces Backlash For Celebrating Birthday With Lakers-Themed Helicopter: I’m Ouchea, I’m Like Kobe

Kodak Black Gets Backlash For Celebrating 24th Birthday With Lakers-Themed Helicopter: I’m Ouchea, I’m Like Kobe
Kodak Black’s celebration for his “Kobe Bryant year” was met with lots of backlash thanks to props he decided to mark the day with.
The rapper shared a snapshot of his 24th birthday celebration, which was infamously one of Kobe Bryant’s jersey numbers. The photo showed off a Tesla Model X wrapped in Los Angeles Lakers colors purple and yellow. But it was the nearby helicopter of the same theme that garnered Kodak Black criticism. He added the caption,
“I’m Ouchea 24 a Day I’m Like KOBE #KtB@kobebryant ? #HappyBirthdayKodak Out Now”

Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant, and seven other victims tragically died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, Calif. on Jan. 26th, 2020.
Kodak Black’s comments were flooded with questions of why he included the helicopter in his celebration.

He appeared to respond to the criticism in his stories. He first shared a post from Vanessa Bryant that showed her and Kobe Bryant’s daughter Capri. He pointed out that they have similar names as his birth name is Bill Kapri.

He also shared a message from a fan that said Kodak Black, whose actual birthday is June 11th, wanted to show the late NBA star love.

He also explained the sentiment behind the helicopter last week.
