Chadwick Boseman’s Widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, Fights For $71,000 Reimbursement From His Estate After Paying For His Funeral
Chadwick Boseman‘s widow Taylor Simone Ledward is seeking reimbursement after paying for his funeral.
Taylor Simone Ledward filed a court claim in which she requested reimbursement back in April. Specifically, she wanted Chadwick Boseman‘s estate, which is valued at $3.5 million, to repay her $71,613.74 after she funded the late actor’s funeral. However, the judge presiding over the case recently rejected the claim, saying it:
“Must be supported by evidence of payment by the claimant… Support for claim is unclear based upon the partial payments, transferred account, and documents provided.”
The claim was reportedly rejected on account of the large sum of money involved as well as the complexity of the situation.
Despite this setback, Taylor Simone Ledward has refiled the claim and submitted various check stubs, receipts, and financial documents. She also submitted testimonies from Chadwick Boseman‘s friends who had first-hand knowledge of the funeral expenses. The judge will review the documents and make his final decision at a hearing in November.
Chadwick Boseman married Taylor Simone Ledward shortly before he passed away last year. The pair had been dating since 2015–about a year before the actor was diagnosed with colon cancer. However, despite the couple’s union and Chadwick Boseman‘s terminal illness, the late actor never drafted a final will.
