Naomi Campbell Reveals Her Daughter “Wasn’t Adopted” As She Dishes On Becoming A Mom In Her 50s

Naomi Campbell is opening up on how her life has changed since becoming a mom in her 50s.

As previously reported, famed supermodel Naomi Campbell, 51, made headlines last May after seemingly shocking the world by sharing that she was officially a mother! In a now-deleted Instagram post, the fashion icon shared a picture online of her baby girl’s feet and captioned the upload,

“A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you, my angel. There is no greater love.”

In a recent interview, Naomi Campbell addressed speculations that her 9-month-old daughter was adopted and said,

“She wasn’t adopted – she’s my child.”

Naomi continued and shared that she’s keeping the full details surrounding her daughter’s birth and name private for her upcoming book, which she has yet to start working on. She added that prior to her IG announcement, not many people were aware she had a baby on the way. She said,

“I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her. But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Naomi then reflected on her own upbringing and how she plans on incorporating those values into her own child.

“[My] grandma taught me how to cook and clean. I would come home from school and have to wash my dancewear, clean my shoes. I think discipline is important. I had that and I will be the same.”

She continued and shared that despite many people being shocked by her motherhood announcement, she always knew she’d have a child at some point in her life.

“I always knew that one day I would be a mother, but it’s the biggest joy I could ever imagine. I’m lucky to have her and I know that.”

She added,

“I’m like a kid again. I’m reliving nursery rhymes, playing and discovering how many great new toys there are out there in the world! And dolls! Things I couldn’t even dream of.”

When asked what is the biggest surprise about being a mother, Naomi shared,

“My daughter comes first. Everything I do, I do for her – that’s it. It’s so completely selfless, isn’t it?”
