Virginia News Reporter, Sierra Jenkins, Sadly Killed In Shooting Over Spilled Drink [Condolences]
This is just tragic.
According to reports, a Virginia news reporter was one of two people killed on March 19, outside of a bar and restaurant in Norfolk. Sierra Jenkins, a journalist with The Virginian-Pilot and Daily Press, was reportedly dining inside of Chicho’s Pizza Backstage when an argument broke out over a spilled drink, resulting in gunfire. Sierra Jenkins, 25, and 25-year-old Devon Harris were killed in the crossfire, which also injured three others.

When learning of the shooting, Sierra Jenkins‘ editor reportedly tried contacting her to assign Jenkins‘ the story, unaware that she was one of the victims.
“I’m devastated,” her friend Demmi Nimer told reporters via text.
“I was with her when everything happened and just wish I could’ve done more to help her.”
“This is another incident in which conflict resolution did not exist,” police chief Larry Boone added.
Authorities have not yet arrested a suspect, but are “cautiously optimistic” they will find those responsible due to the location of the shooting.
Sierra Jenkins was reportedly raised in Norfolk and attended college in Atlanta at Georgia State University. Her death comes just days after an Atlanta shooting claimed the life of LaKevia Jackson, who shared a teenage son with rapper Young Thug.
LaKevia Jackson was reportedly at a local bowling alley when she got into an argument with someone over a bowling ball. That person reportedly waited for her outside and fatally shot LaKevia Jackson as she was leaving the building. Police have not made an arrest in that shooting either.
