‘Abbott Elementary’ Creator Quinta Brunson Slams Fans Who Suggest School Shooting Episode

‘Abbott Elementary’ Creator Quinta Brunson Slams Fans Who Suggest School Shooting Episode Idea
There will be no mass school shootings playing out on “Abbott Elementary.”
Show creator Quinta Brunson shut down the concept on Tuesday, May 24, in wake of a mass school shooting that left 19 children and two adults dead at a Uvalde, Texas elementary school. In a series of tweets, Quinta Brunson made it clear that it’s not happening and for those who are asking, that energy should be used toward elected officials and gun laws.
Quinta Brunson said,
“wild how many people have asked for a school shooting episode of the show I write. people are that deeply removed from demanding more from the politicians they’ve elected and are instead demanding “entertainment.” I can’t ask “are yall ok” anymore because the answer is “no.”

She added,
“please use that energy to ask your elected official to get on Beto time and nothing less. I’m begging you.”
“I don’t want to sound mean, but I want people to understand the flaw in asking for something like this. we’re not okay. this country is rotting our brains. im sad about it.”

“Abbott Elementary” is quite literally, a perfect show. As previously reported, when the show’s initial episode surpassed ABC’s ratings as the first comedy premiere to quadruple ratings from its original air date, it created a new milestone.
After 35 days of viewing across linear and digital platforms, episode two of the sitcom drew “9 million total viewers and a 2.93 rating in adults 18-49,” marking the first time ABC witnessed such popularity since the series finale of “Modern Family” in 2020.
The sitcom also boasted a perfect score on rotten tomatoes. It’s official description reads, in part,
“In this workplace comedy, a group of dedicated, passionate teachers—and a slightly tone-deaf principal—are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.”
