Jennifer Lopez’s Upcoming Doc ‘Halftime’ Reveals Singer’s Frustrations Over Sharing Super Bowl Performance W/ Shakira: This Is The Worst Idea
Latina pop artist Jennifer Lopez was not here for sharing her halftime spotlight.
Her new documentary Halftime, unveiled this past Wednesday (June 8th) at the Tribeca Film Festival, reportedly showed Jennifer Lopez, 52, feuding with the NFL about the 2020 performance. J.Lo famously took the stage at the Super Bowl event, co-headlining with Latina electro-pop singer Shakira, 45.
According to reports, one point in the doc shows a frustrated J.Lo speaking with NFL reps about the timing of her performance. Acknowledging that she’ll have to surrender some of her time to allow for her co-headliner Shakira’s routine, she stated:
“This was the worst idea in the world”

Reports state that although Jenny from the block wasn’t thrilled about sharing the stage – that usually only has a single headliner – J.Lo reached out to Shakira, attempting to make the most of their situation. She stated:
“We can bring everybody together in this moment.”
The two singers reportedly shared some tension during rehearsals, but ultimately kept everything professional afterwards.
J.Lo’s manager, Benny Medina, reportedly gave his thoughts on the matter, stating the NFL “insulted” the “Waiting For Tonight” artist. He stated:
“It was an insult to think that you needed two Latinas to do the job that one artist historically has done.”
Apparently, J.Lo refrained from making any direct comments about performing with her fellow Latina songstress. The documentary is set to air on Netflix on June 14th. Post her huge halftime performance, J.Lo seemingly remains incredibly busy. The singer is undoubtedly in the midst of planning her nuptials to her betrothed, actor Ben Affleck. Additionally, she is executive producing a limited series of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s ‘Cinderella’, which previously starred Whitney Houston and Brandy.
