Kendrick Lamar Is Allegedly Already Working On A New Album
It looks like Kendrick Lamar is already working on his next album!
During a recent interview Kendrick Lamar’s long time producer, Sounwave, (born Mark Spears), revealed that he’s already working on Kendrick’s next album.
This comes as a surprise to many being that it’s been less than three months since the “Humble” rapper released his 5th studio album, “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers“–which Sounwave produced 13 of 18 tracks. According to reports, Sounwave has contributed to every one of Kendrick Lamar’s projects, from his self-titled debut EP in 2009 to his latest album.

When asked about the timeline of working on ‘Mr. Morale,’ Sounwave said:
“We always start, immediately after. Like, we’re starting on the next one now. That’s never going to change, all the way from the Kendrick Lamar EP. The next day, we started on Section.80.”
He continued,
“It’s just the ideas never stopped. That’s one of the main reasons I go on tour with him, is to create the next album. We can’t skip a beat. We have to just keep it going. There’s no breaks.”
Kendrick’s latest album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” has received mixed reviews. When released in May, the album broke Apple Music’s worldwide record for the highest first-day streams for an album released in 2022, as well previously occupied the top 14 spots on the Apple Music Songs Chart.
However, nearly a month later, his songs from his latest album weren’t doing so good on the Billboard Hot 100 chart! As previously reported, Kendrick Lamar’s single ‘We Cry Together,’ broke the record for the biggest single-week drop in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
On Tuesday (May 31), Billboard’s Hot 100 chart revealed Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers single “We Cry Together” drastically moved down 81 spots since the previous week—going from No. 16 to No. 97. The song is reportedly expected to be the next track off the album to receive a music video.
‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ also underperformed compared to its predecessor, Damn. According to reports, Damn reportedly moved 603,000 units in its first week, compared to the latest album’s first-week output of only 295,000 units.
