Wendy Williams Isn’t Married To An NYPD Officer Despite Her Recent Claim, Reps Say Talk Show Host Exaggerated Due To Excitement For Her New Relationship
Wendy Williams’ added a little twist to her new relationship.
In a recent interview, Wendy Williams claimed she secretly married a New York Police Department officer named Henry. William Selby, Wendy Williams’ manager, claimed Williams distributed false information. William Selby said:
“That’s inaccurate.”
William Selby continued:
“She is excited about a new relationship and probably got carried away in conversation.”
Selby denied releasing information about Williams’ mystery man’s occupation. He said:
“Wendy doesn’t wish to disclose details at the moment.”
On Tuesday (August 2) the 58-year-old called media personality, Jason Lee to inform him that she tied the knot. Jason Lee reflected on their conversation. Jason Lee, podcast host, shared:
“She says, ‘I’m married.’ I’m like, ‘What?’ She’s like, ‘I got married.’”
He added:
“I’m like, ‘You got married when?’ And she’s like, ‘I got married last week.’”
Lee also shared that following the media mogul “getting married,” she wanted her publicist to keep her “entire family away from her except for her son for at least a year.”
According to reports, Williams’ has a weakness for police officers. A 2019 report alleged she was in a relationship with a former cop and criminal justice expert, Dr. Darrin Porcher. However, Dr. Darrin Porcher denied Williams’ allegations. Dr. Darrin Porcher admitted:
“It’s flattering to hear, but it’s not the case.”
He added:
“I’m in a relationship. I just worked security for her for a couple of weeks after she filed for divorce [from Kevin Hunter].”
Williams also admitted that outside of her family issues, she’s going through financial hardships. The former talk show host told Lee that her American Express card stopped working due to her finances remaining under Wells Fargo’s control, but her manager and close friend have been helping her access one of her bank accounts.
As previously reported, the banks decided to manage Williams’ money following her former manager’s, Lori Schiller, decision to have a court-appointed guardian because the talk show host allegedly wasn’t in the right state of mind. Back in May, Williams’ former attorney said:
“Please be advised that Wendy is not in agreement with the appointment of a financial guardian by the court.”
Williams’ former attorney continued:
“Wendy has been very clear that she does not want a financial guardian to tell her what she can and cannot do with her money.”
