Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi Arrested For An Outstanding Warrant, Lawyer Claims It Was A Misunderstanding

Slim Jxmmi was recently arrested due to an alleged miscommunication at LAX.

According to reports, Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi, born Aaquil Brown, was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport after leaving Canada on August 8th. Border Patrol claims to have found an outstanding warrant for Slim Jxmmi in Georgia. The warrant was reportedly for a previous arrest for marijuana possession with the intent to sell. However, the 30-year-old rapper’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, claims that the whole thing happened because of miscommunication. Sadow said, 

“Nearly two years ago, Aaquil entered a plea to a marijuana offense in Cobb County, Georgia. He was placed on probation. In early June 2022, the mother of his child filed an untruthful complaint with the Cobb County Police Department, which led to an arrest warrant being issued.”

He continued,

“Aaquil was not arrested on that warrant. Instead, a Cobb County Magistrate Judge held a hearing on July 20, 2022, and dismissed the warrant. Unfortunately, the Cobb County Probation Office was unaware that the arrest warrant was dismissed and thus failed to withdraw its probation violation warrant. When Aaquil came back from Canada into the LA airport, he was arrested on a probation violation warrant. We expect that warrant to be withdrawn in the next day or so, and then Aaquil will be released.”

As previously reported, this wasn’t the ‘No Type’ artist’s first arrest this year. He was arrested back in January for battery after an alleged fight with his girlfriend. The case was later dropped after she recanted her statement.

Slim Jxmmi seems to be at home on house arrest now. In the caption of his latest Instagram post he said,

“Somebody teach me how to work Tik Tok, I’m on house arrest doing weird sh*t”
