DaBaby Sued For Alleged Copyright Infringement For 2020 Hit Song ‘Rockstar’
A music producer is calling DaBaby a thief!
Recent reports state that DaBaby’s 2020 hit “Rockstar,” which features Roddy Ricch, was stolen from music producer JuJu Beatz. The lawsuit alleges that JuJu Beatz sent DaBaby’s team a musical composition three years ago, and his work was sampled for “Rockstar” without his knowledge. JuJu Beatz claims he sent the beat in a digital file and believes the rapper’s camp accessed the file more than 40 times between 2019 and the beginning of 2020. The No. 1 single, which was nominated for BET’s Best Collaboration Award, dropped in April 2020.

The producer is certain that the artist earned millions of dollars since the single was released. In addition, JuJu says he was never compensated for the sampled beat. Reportedly, he’s attempted to resolve the matter without going to court, but DaBaby, born Jonathan Kirk has allegedly declined to,
“cooperate or accept responsibility for blatant and willful copyright infringement.”
Unfortunately, this isn’t the only legal matter DaBaby has to deal with. As previously reported, a lawsuit that claims the rapper punched a 64-year-old man, knocked out his tooth, stole his phone, and trashed his Hollywood Hills mansion, has been suspended pending resolution of a parallel felony battery charge against the 30-year-old.
