Fugees Rapper Pras’ Attorney Said To Be ‘Disappointed’ By Guilty Verdict In Political Fraud Case & Is Planning To Appeal The Decision
Well, there hasn’t been much “order in the court” since iconic lyricist Pras learned his legal fate.
On Wednesday (Apr. 26), The Fugees’ Pras was found guilty on all (10) counts for his involvement in an international conspiracy scheme against the U.S. government.

Reportedly, Pras is said to be responsible for accepting millions of dollars from Malaysian financier Jho Low to get a photo op with ex-president Barack Obama and illegally funneled over $800,000 to his 2012 campaign.
Jho Low is a notorious fugitive in the controversial 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal (1MDB), an embezzled wealth fund that is known for the corruption, bribery, and money laundering surrounding it.
According to prosecutors, Jho Low approached Pras (yet again) when Donald Trump’s presidency came around, in 2017, as the investigation into Low’s alleged connection to 1MDB strengthened. This time, Pras was accused of using $100 million+ to coerce Donald Trump and officials to close their case.

Charges were initially brought upon Pras in 2019. He is currently facing up to 20 years in prison.
Pras’ representative David Kenner recently spoke out about the results of the trial and said,
“We are extremely disappointed in [the guilty] result but are very, very confident in the ultimate outcome of this case.”
Although Pras and his team are stunned by the ruling, he’s looking toward a brighter future… hopefully. David Kenner continued,
“If we do move to a sentencing hearing, I remained very confident [that] we will certainly appeal this case. This is not over.”

A date for sentencing has not been set. Further details of this story are still developing.
