Nike Set To Relaunch Kobe Bryant’s Line This Summer

Are you ready to get your hands on some fresh Kobe Bryant gear?

Many fans of Kobe Bryant were sad to see his longtime partnership with Nike come to an end in April 2021 when the company and Kobe’s estate could not agree upon the terms of a new contract. At the time, the late athlete’s wife Vanessa Bryant released a statement and, in part, she said,

“My hope will always be to allow Kobe’s fans to get and wear his products. I will continue to fight for that. Kobe’s products sell out in seconds. That says everything. I was hoping for a lifelong partnership with Nike that reflects my husband’s legacy. We will always do everything we can to honor Kobe and Gigi’s legacies. That will never change.”

Fast forward almost a year, and the estate finally reached a new deal with Nike. Vanessa Bryant spoke on the exciting news in March 2022 and expressed,

“We’re excited to announce our partnership with Nike is going to continue! I am so proud that my husband’s shoes are still the most worn by players on NBA courts and that the demand for his shoes remains so desired by his fans around the world.”

She continued,

“With this new partnership, fans will soon be able to have access to Kobe and Gigi Nike products for years to come and with Nike donating 100% of the net proceeds yearly for Gianna’s shoes to our Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.”

Since then, new details about the partnership haven’t been released…until now.

According to reports, Nike CEO John Donahoe recently announced the release date for the relaunch and reportedly said,

“It’s going to be an exciting summer as we set the stage to relaunch the Kobe brand in advance of Kobe Day on 8.24.”

As of now, Nike hasn’t clarified what the relaunch of the Kobe line will look like or what this specifically means for the famed brand.
