TikTok Rapper VanVan Trends As Public Calls Out Parents For Creating Cameo Account For 4-Year-Old: ‘The Internet Is Way Too Weird To Allow Adults To Request Personalized Videos From A Toddler’
It looks like fans of VanVan aren’t too pleased with her parents.
If you’re not familiar with the 4-year-old internet star, VanVan (real name Savannah McConneaughey) has been going viral across social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok for performing freestyle raps alongside her dad, who is her hype man.
While VanVan and her family typically receive nothing but love and praise for her unique raps, it appears fans are now criticizing her parents and their latest move to garner more attention for the child.
VanVan’s parents recently created a Cameo account for the young influencer, which has many in an uproar. Cameo is a platform where celebrities and influencers can make personalized videos for their fans for a fee. From the looks of it, VanVan’s mom and dad are charging fans $55 for a personalized video from her.
@therealvanvanisback Here is a snippet….Yall go run them numbers up on Youtube…. I tried to upload the full video but couldnt ????…… We appreciate all yall support for VanVan #fyp #fyp? #vanvan #blackgirlmagic #prettygirls #toddlersoftiktok #kidsoftiktok #video #rappers
While it may seem innocent to some, many fans feel like it is inappropriate considering her age. They also feel that it is an example of exploitation.
One social media user said,
“Selling private video messages of van van giving shout outs to grown a** men for $55 each.”
Another person wrote,
“I don’t engage with Van Van content on purpose. The first viral moment was cute, anything after that is exploitation.”
“The internet is way too weird to allow adults to request personalized videos from a toddler.”
