Tia Mowry & Cory Hardrict Have Awkward Exchange As They Hug On The Red Carpet Nearly 1 Year After Finalizing Their Divorce

Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict are remaining friendly.

The exes bumped into each other at the Essence Black Women In Hollywood Awards on Thursday (March 7), marking the first time they were seen on the red carpet together since finalizing their divorce.

During the moment, Tia Mowry, 45, waves at Cory Hardrict, 44, who appears to be unsure about whether he should give her a hug or a handshake. She reaches out to hug him and the two share an awkward embrace. Tia Mowry then tells her ex-husband, “Hi,” and grabs his shoulder before they go their separate ways.

It’s safe to say Tia and Cory Hardrict are working through their split. They also spent Thanksgiving together with their two children, 12-year-old son Cree and 5-year-old daughter Cairo, last year.

Tia shared images from their festive gathering and added the caption,

“we gon be alright ?”

Tia and the All-American: Homecoming actor, who married in April 2008, finalized their divorce in April 2023, six months after announcing their breakup.

It’s not clear why they split, however, Cory previously denied speculation that he cheated.

Meanwhile, Tia has been open about sharing her journey with fans as she navigates the “dating scene.” Last August, she posted a funny video on TikTok of her struggle and wrote in the caption,

“Fun Fact: I’ve never been on the dating scene my entire life/So when I tell you I’m nervous and terrified of doing this whole dating thing, I mean it/Even though I’m in my 40’s, I feel so inexperienced! And while it would be easy to just throw in the towel and avoid the potential for awkwardness and hurt, I know God’s got me! So if you’re feeling apprehensive about new experiences, just know you got this, and we’re in this together!”

Still, in October, she denied rumors that she was thinking about getting back with Cory. She wrote on X (formerly Twitter),

“Just because the dating life is complicated. Doesn’t mean I’m going to go back to something that no longer served me. That’s like saying if I don’t book an audition our a part right away I’m going to give up on my dreams as an actor. Please just stop. I ain’t that weak. Please move on because I have . Thank you NEXT.”
