Madonna Sued For False Advertising & Allegedly Exposing Fans To ‘Pornography’ w/o Warning During Concert

Madonna Sued For False Advertising & Allegedly Exposing Fans To ‘Pornography’ w/o Warning During Concert
Madonna has been hit with another lawsuit over her Celebration Tour.
The 65-year-old kicked off her twelfth concert tour in London on October 14, 2023, and held the final show on May 4, in Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately for Madonna, it doesn’t seem that the music event was executed without any issues. As previously reported, in January she was sued by fans for reportedly starting hours late for all three nights of her New York tour stop. Her attorneys are reportedly working on getting the suit dismissed, but now they have another legal matter to deal with.

According to reports, a new suit was filed against Madonna, her promoter Live Nation, and other parties involved with the tour for allegedly committing 6 crimes: breach of written contract, negligent misrepresentation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false advertising, negligence/negligent infliction of emotional distress, and unfair competition.
The plaintiff, Justen Lipeles, says the defendants “purposely and deceptively withheld informing ticket purchasers” about crucial issues while promoting Madonna’s latest tour. Lipeles claims he arrived at Kia Forum early on March 7, because he was expecting the concert to begin at the advertised time of 8:30 that night. However, the event allegedly didn’t actually start until after 10:00 p.m.

The suit continues, claiming Lipeles and other concertgoers were profusely sweating and eventually became physically ill due to the heat caused by Madonna allegedly demanding the air conditioning remain off during the concert. When the “Material Girl” artist was made aware of the issue she purportedly told fans to take their clothes off to solve the problem. Lipeles also claims fans were “forced to watch topless women on stage simulating sex acts.”
Adding,
“Forcing consumers to wait hours in hot, uncomfortable arenas and subjecting them to pornography without warning is demonstrative of Madonna’s flippant disrespect for her fans.”
Lipeles wants an injunctive relief ordering the defendants’ “unfair business acts and practices” to cease and restitution in the amount he and others paid for tickets. He’s also seeking the disgorgement of the profits Madonna’s concert earned from ticket sales. In addition, he wants a jury trial, post-judgment interests, costs of the lawsuit, and reasonable attorney fees.
