Megan Thee Stallion Replaces Tyler, the Creator As Lollapalooza Headliner After He Cancels For ‘Personal Reasons’
Good news for Megan Thee Stallion fans, sad news for Tyler, the Creator fans.
The Houston native will be replacing the Igor artist as this year’s Lollapalooza headliner after Tyler, the Creator announced the cancellation of a couple of festivals.
Tyler, the Creator, 33, sadly shared the news with fans earlier today (June 20th), writing on X (formerly Twitter):
“i hate saying this but i have to cancel lollapalooza and outside lands. i made a commitment that i can no longer keep, and that bums me out knowing how excited folks were.”
He added:
“that is not sexy at all. please please forgive me or call me names when you see me in person. love”
Reports confirmed that Megan Thee Stallion will be replacing Tyler at Chicago’s Lollapalooza (August 1st – 4th), while pop star Sabrina Carpenter will head San Francisco’s Outside Lands (August 9th -11th). At this time, there have been no further details shared about why Tyler will no longer be performing. It’s noted that he is coming off of a Coachella headlining gig which took place in April, and is set to headline the Austin City Limits Music Festival in October.
Lollapalooza addressed the switch up on their official social media pages, writing in a post reshared by the “B.O.A.” artist:
“Hot girl summer in Chicago Unfortunately, Tyler, the Creator will not be able to perform this year. See @theestallion headline Lolla on Thursday, August 1st!”
Outside Lands reportedly cited that the rapper would no longer be headlining due to “personal reasons” and confirmed Carpenter’s attendance as well.
