Kandi Burruss & Todd Tucker’s Old Lady Gang Restaurant Gets Win In Court After Lawsuit Over 2020 Shooting Dismissed

Kandi Burruss is still flying above all the drama.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 48, and her husband Todd Tucker‘s Old Lady Gang (OLG) restaurant was previously sued over a 2020 shooting incident at the eatery. However, the lawsuit has now been dismissed with prejudice, meaning it can’t be refiled in court, per In Touch Weekly.

Tammy Johnson filed the claim in 2022 after her daughter Kiya Humphries, who was 14 at the time, was injured in the incident. The two alleged in the claim that they and three additional family members were at OLG on Valentine’s Day in 2020. Kiya Humphries was standing close to the front of the restaurant by the door when one of their relatives heard a loud dispute in the parking lot.

She alleged,

“While waiting to be seated at Old Lady Gang, a man entered and was near the front of the restaurant. Shortly afterward, a second man, who was wearing a red tracksuit, entered Old Lady Gang. Upon information and belief, the men who entered Old Lady Gang were the same men who were arguing in the parking lot prior to the shooting.”

She continued, stating that the man in the red tracksuit fired shots with one hitting her daughter on the right calf, causing her to receive “multiple surgeries, therapy, and counseling.”

Tammy Johnson also said she wasn’t aware that other concerning incidents had occurred at the restaurant in the past, such as a robbery at or inside the eatery.

The lawsuit continued,

“As a direct and proximate result of the failure of Defendants Old Lady Gang II, LLC and/or Old Lady Gang Concessions, LLC, and/or Old Lady Gang’s Southern Cuisine LLLP to exercise ordinary care in keeping the Old Lady Gang restaurant premises and approaches safe, Kiya Humphries suffered a gunshot wound and severe bodily injury.”

Kandi Burruss had previously reacted to the shooting the next day and wrote on social media,

“My family and I are truly saddened by the unfortunate events that occurred at Old Lady Gang (OLG) Camp Creek on the evening of February 14th, an evening that was meant to celebrate love, unfortunately turned into something quite different.”

She added,

“Our prayers and thoughts go out to the individuals that were harmed or in any way negatively impacted. We are aware that this matter is being actively investigated by law enforcement and we are cooperating with law enforcement to bring to justice those involved.”

She continued,

“As African-American business owners, it has been our goal to invest in our community by bringing jobs, quality dining, and a positive experience to the greater Atlanta area; we hope that you know and understand that the acts of violence that occurred yesterday evening do not, in any way, serve as a reflection of OLG or its values.”

“We appreciate all of the love and prayers that have come our way and we encourage anyone with any information regarding any aspects of the events that occurred to please reach out to law enforcement as soon as possible.”
