T-Boz Speaks Out After TLC Cancelled Multiple Shows Due To Singer’s Hospitalization For Abdominal Blockage: ‘I’m On The Mend!’

Prayers up for R&B songstress T-Boz.

Following an emergency visit to the hospital, the singer revealed that she was diagnosed with a rare illness that forced the cancellation of multiple shows, but made it clear she’s already looking to get back on stage.

T-Boz, real name Tionne Watkins, offered an in depth explanation about her recent health issue to fans, posting in a message to Instagram:

“After delivering an electric performance in Toledo, Ohio on Thursday, TLC was eagerly anticipating their next stop at the New York State Fair in Syracuse,”

It continued:

“However, shortly after arriving in Syracuse, Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps. She was immediately seen by a doctor and subsequently taken to the hospital for further evaluation.”

The message furthered:

“Last evening, Tionne was diagnosed with a severe abdominal blockage, necessitating the cancellation of both the Syracuse and Foxwoods performances. She remains in the hospital under medical supervision but is expected to be released tomorrow. The doctor verified this was not food poisoning, but an abdominal blockage….The decision to cancel was made under the advisement of her physician, who required her to stay in the hospital overnight to undergo a CT scan to assess the severity of her condition.”

Giving a hopeful update, T-Boz  hinted that she could be back on her feet as early as tomorrow, captioning the post:

“I’m on The Mend!!! This Was Just One Of Those Unexpected Things That I Had No Control Over! I Look Forward To Making It Up 2 You All… And Hopefully I’ll Get Out Of The Hospital Soon!!!”

As you may know, T-Boz had a long struggle maintaining her health, navigating a career as an international star while managing her sickle cell anemia. The rare blood disorder – which causes joint and muscle pain, infections, and severe fatigue – has caused complications for the singer in the past and was initially speculated to be the reason behind TLC cancelling their tour in Australia at the start of the year. The duo later confirmed that wasn’t the case, however.

Commenters chimed into under the post offering their support, with many T-Boz fans urging the singer to focus on her health and sharing their excitement to see her back at 100%.

TLC is expected to announce new dates for the canceled shows soon.

Leave some well wishes for T-Boz in the comments below!
