Ari Lennox Opens Up About IRS Debt, Jokingly Says She’ll Do ‘Strange Things’ To Break Even
R&B songstress Ari Lennox is getting candid about her strained financial situation.
The 33-year-old recently shared that she’s in the process of chopping down a debt to the IRS.
During a recent Instagram live session, Ari Lennox stated about the matter:
“I’m just gonna tell y’all my business. I need to pay this IRS.”
She continued:
“The strange things I’m finna do for change, just so i can just break even. I’m gonna go crazy and then we start anew.”
The singer went on delineating the steps to her goal of retirement, stating that once she settles things with the government agency she’ll start “paying [other] things off” and “saving.”
When one viewer joked that a “diss album” about the IRS was coming soon, Lennox made it clear she wants no smoke with the organization, vehemently stating:
“Absolutely not….They have been gentle with me and didn’t take anything of mine. So, I will not be starting a beef with them, we do not have no beef, I am paying them back. Okay? I am paying them and I’m finna be caught up.”
While it’s unclear what exactly led to the singer’s financial hardship, Lennox insisted that she plans to be out of the government’s crossfire soon. The effort to see positive change in her life is just one of many truths the “Pressure” singer has shared with fans recently. As you may recall, Lennox made headlines back in July of last year after announcing her 7-month journey of sobriety.
Lennox was vulnerable while opening up about her decision to abstain from alcohol, which she admitted stemmed from her arrest in Amsterdam back in 2021. At the time, the songstress alleged that racism was to blame, though authorities insisted that the singer was drunk and disorderly.
