This decision allowed the landowner to terminate the lease and sell the restaurant’s assets to repay creditors.
By November 26, 2024, all of its iconic signs were removed, and the restaurant owed over $100,000 in unpaid rent. Earlier this year, Turkey Leg Hut had filed for bankruptcy, citing nearly $5 million in debt.
The Houston Health Department had also shut it down in September for serious health violations, including 35 violations deemed a public health threat.
Houston folks, will y’all miss those stuffed turkey legs?
