Lil Wayne & Chris Brown Allegedly Used Pandemic Grants For Designer Clothes, Private Jets, & Birthday Parties
Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, along with other artists, are under scrutiny for allegedly misusing pandemic relief grants.
According to a report from Business Insider, the artists were eligible for up to $10 million from the Shuttered Venue Operations Grant, a government program designed to help independent venues and art groups struggling during the pandemic. The money was intended to cover “ordinary and necessary” expenses, and recipients were required to show a 25% revenue loss between 2019 and 2020.

Wayne and Brown, however, reportedly used the funds for personal expenses. According to the report, Wayne received $8.9 million and used $1.3 million on private jets, $460,000 on designer clothes, and $2.14 million to settle a debt with his former manager.
Brown, who reportedly received $10 million, allegedly paid himself $5.1 million and spent nearly $80,000 on a lavish birthday party.
