Selena’s K*ller, Yolanda Saldívar, Files For Parole After Serving 30+ Years In Prison
Yolanda Saldívar, convicted of murdering Selena, has filed for parole after serving more than 30 years behind bars.
She has a parole hearing scheduled for March 2025, with an official notice to be sent to Selena’s family in January.
Saldívar, who shot Selena in 1995, insists it was an accident, claiming in a 2023 interview, “I was convicted by public opinion even before my trial started,” and that she intended to harm herself, not Selena. Despite her defense, she was convicted and sentenced to life in prison, with eligibility for parole after 30 years.

While in prison, Saldívar has been placed in protective custody due to fellow inmates reportedly saying there’s a “bounty on her head.” Former inmate Marisol Lopez added,
“If she were out [in general population], someone would try to take her down.”
Saldívar’s cousin argues she’s paid her debt, stating,
“Keeping her in prison isn’t going to do any good. It’s time for her to get out.”
