Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Reach Divorce Settlement After 8-Year Battle
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally reached a divorce settlement after more than eight years of legal battles.
The ex-couple finalized their divorce on Dec. 30, 2024, with Jolie’s lawyer, James Simon, telling PEOPLE, “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”
Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 after an incident on a private plane where she claimed Pitt was abusive.
In 2017, they agreed to resolve their issues through a private judge, and they were legally declared single in 2019. However, battles over custody and their $164 million French estate, Château Miraval, continued until now.
While the details of their settlement remain unknown, both Pitt and Jolie are focused on their family as they share six children together.
